主要从事环境微生物学与微生物组学、合成微生物组学、寒区农林废弃物资源化利用、农林绿色低碳技术等方面的教学和科研工作,研究兴趣包括:寒区特色微生物资源挖掘与作用机理、木质纤维素微生物降解与转化、秸秆与畜禽粪便资源化(堆肥技术、厌氧沼气技术、沼渣高值化技术)、微生物肥料与生物有机肥、黑土保护与质量提升、农林基可降解材料等。
